Nanzan University is a distinguished private university situated on a wooded campus in Nagoya. Its Center for Japanese Studies (CJS) specializes in:

  • Intensive Japanese language study (with an excellent reputation for success)
  • Japanese area studies courses taught in English

CJS offers a range of courses in Business, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Popular hands-on Japanese Studio Arts courses are also available. If you have very advanced language skills, you are encouraged to enroll in seminars conducted in Japanese.

The University's library contains more than 600,000 volumes, many of which are in English. Sports facilities include a large, well-equipped physical education center, a heated swimming pool, athletic fields, tennis courts, and a baseball field.
