The Duke Study Abroad Fee of $4,580 (2022-2023 rate) per semester will be charged to your Duke bursar account when enrolling in non-Duke administered semester/academic year programs. Please budget accordingly, as this amount is in addition to any amounts charged directly to you by the non-Duke program provider.

All non-Duke program home institution advisor/approval forms should be completed by the Global Education Office for Undergraduates at Duke, not your academic advisor or dean. Please send it to GEO via email attachment to geoapprovals@duke.edu. We will email you when it has been completed.

PLEASE NOTE: Any “Early Start/ Summer Start Up Programme” courses taken at Trinity College Dublin before the beginning of the fall term (Michaelmas) will NOT be accepted by Duke as transfer credits and will NOT count towards the required full time course load for the fall term, which is 30 ECTS. If you choose to participate in one of these programs, it will be considered a personal enrichment experience and not an academic one by Duke.

Please note that first year students are not eligible for study away until the summer after their first year.
